Expense by expense
Crypto investors: pay an expense without converting everything
For a crypto investor, an expense in euros raises two questions: how much to convert, and when. Here, the answer follows your payments: you convert the amount of a bill or a rent payment when it falls due.
You deposit the quantity needed from your wallet, see the firm price with the 1% fee included, and confirm, or not. The SEPA transfer then goes out in euros, from an IBAN in your name.
This is not an investment strategy. Converting when you pay offers no protection against falling prices: it simply avoids converting more than you need.

Asset by asset
Not all assets move the same way
| Asset | Type | What moves the euro amount |
|---|---|---|
| USDT | Dollar stablecoin | The euro-dollar rate: 1 USDT is worth about 1 dollar |
| BTC, ETH, SOL | Crypto-assets | The market: their price moves sharply |
A stablecoin can also lose its peg to the currency it tracks.
Volatility does not stop at deposit
The price of BTC, ETH or SOL can fall sharply between your deposit and the conversion, and you may lose some or all of their value. Deposit what you intend to convert and check the firm price before confirming. For a large payment, convert ahead of time rather than at the last minute.

What is up to you, and what we don’t do

- Proof of ownership above €1,000 from a self-hosted wallet
- The firm price and fees, before you confirm

What we don’t do

- Ask for your recovery phrase
- Add a hidden spread to the rate
Tax on conversion
Depending on your country of tax residence, converting crypto into euros may be taxable. For a Belgian resident, for example, capital gains on financial assets, crypto included, have been taxed at 10% since 1 January 2026. Since the same date, crypto providers have been collecting the information required by DAC8. CryptoIBAN gives no advice, whether on investment or on tax.
Investors: common questions
Do I have to convert everything at once?
No. You convert the amount you need, when you need it; the rest stays in your wallet. The choice is yours: we do not give investment advice.
Can the rate change between the simulator and the conversion?
Yes. The simulator shows an indicative rate; the firm price is presented when you convert, before you confirm (MiCA, art. 77). If it does not suit you, nothing obliges you to confirm.
Can I deposit from a hardware wallet?
Choose a deposit amount of at least $500, then select the asset and network. Send the exact crypto amount to the address displayed in the payment modal, with network fees paid separately.
Which assets can I convert?
USDT on Tron (TRC20) or Ethereum (ERC20), BTC on Bitcoin, ETH on Ethereum, and SOL on Solana. Select the exact asset and network in the payment modal.
Are my conversions reported?
Your tax obligations depend on your residence and the transactions you make. Keep your records and ask your tax authority or adviser which declarations apply.
What about large amounts?
Above €20,000 converted a month, pricing is quoted on request. For a large or unusual amount, you may be asked for documents showing where the funds come from.
