Our mission
CryptoIBAN, a bridge between your crypto and life in euros
We exist for one precise purpose: to let you pay rent, bills, contractors and taxes in euros, by SEPA transfer, from an account with a Belgian IBAN in your own name, funded by your crypto.

What we do
CryptoIBAN in practice
Rent, an energy bill, a designer’s invoice or a tax bill is paid in euros, by transfer. The people who send them to you don’t have to accept crypto. CryptoIBAN connects the two: you deposit crypto-assets, they are converted into euros at the firm price shown before you confirm, and you pay by SEPA transfer from a Belgian IBAN in your own name.
Your payee receives an ordinary SEPA transfer: they see your name and a BE IBAN, as with any transfer. Nothing to install, nothing to accept, nothing to change on their side.
The service is built for people whose lives have moved on: expats, digital nomads, freelancers paid in stablecoins, and crypto holders who prefer to convert only what they need, when they pay.
The problem
What we set out to fix
Paying in euros from your crypto should be simple. For many expats and crypto holders, it is still a series of compromises.
-
Payments in a platform’s name
Some services pay from a pooled account, in a platform’s name. Your landlord sees a name they don’t know, and can only link the payment to you through a reference.
-
A real cost that is hard to read
A spread slipped into the rate, fees announced after the fact: the cost of a conversion often becomes clear too late. You should know it before you confirm, not after.
-
Foreign IBANs still refused
EU law forbids refusing an IBAN because of its country (Regulation 260/2012, art. 9). Yet refusals persist: the ECC-Net network received 4,688 complaints between 2021 and early 2025. We cannot make them disappear, but we give you what you need to assert your rights.
Our principles
Four principles, applied to every decision
They shape what we build, what we write and what we turn down.
-
Transparency
One fee, 1% all-in on conversion, with no hidden exchange spread. The firm price is shown before you confirm, as the MiCA regulation requires (art. 77). Network fees go to the blockchain, not to us, and we say so.
-
Compliance
Enter your first and last name, then make an initial deposit of at least $500. Your IBAN is usable after payment confirmation.
-
Human
A person replies, in English or French, within 24 business hours. When a rule requires us to ask you for a document, we tell you which rule, and why.
-
Restraint
Convert, pay, document: an account that does few things, and does them well. No promise of gains, no jargon, nothing superfluous.
Our identity
An arch and an owl
Our logo is an arch of five voussoirs, held together by a brass keystone. An arch is a passage between two worlds: here, your crypto-assets and the everyday euro. It also says what we want to be: a solid structure, where each piece holds the others.
Our owl represents care and attention: checking the selected network and payment address, then reviewing the rate and fees before a conversion.
Our colours follow the same idea: ink and ivory for clarity, brass for decoration only. Our headings are set in an editorial serif, far from the usual codes of crypto.
What we will never do
- Promise returns or interest
- Ask for your recovery phrase
- Promise anonymity
- Hide a spread in the rate
Our limits
What we do, and what we don’t
A serious service is also defined by what it refuses.
What we do
- Convert your USDT, BTC, ETH and SOL into euros, at the firm price shown before you confirm
- Activate your IBAN after your name is saved and your initial deposit is confirmed
- Send your SEPA transfers to 41 countries, with the payee’s name verified before sending
- Schedule recurring transfers, such as rent
- Provide statements and receipts as PDFs
- Reply within 24 business hours, in English or French
What we don’t do
- Activate an account before its initial deposit is confirmed
- Promise you gains, on your crypto or on your euros
- Give tax or investment advice
- Accept an asset or network that is not offered in the payment modal
- Serve US persons or residents of sanctioned countries
Who provides the services
CryptoIBAN is a brand, and it is not a bank. Crypto-asset services are provided by a provider authorised under MiCA; your IBAN account and transfers, by a licensed e-money institution. Their names and licence numbers are set out in the contract provided before opening. Funds on your account are safeguarded e-money: they are not deposits, are not covered by deposit guarantee schemes and earn no interest.
