Why a Belgian IBAN
Your name, a euro IBAN, no detours
A transfer is only as good as the account it comes from. Here is what a nominative Belgian IBAN changes.
-
An account in your name
Since 9 October 2025, payment providers in the euro area check the payee’s name against the IBAN before each transfer. An IBAN in your own name gives a clean match; a pooled account with a reference does not.
-
A classic euro-area IBAN
BE is the IBAN of a founding member of the euro. Under EU law, a landlord, a company or an employer in the SEPA area may not refuse an IBAN because of its country (Regulation 260/2012, art. 9).
-
Crypto kept separate
Keep your crypto conversions apart from your everyday bank: one dedicated IBAN, clean statements, and documents your accountant can use.

Security & compliance
Serious by design
Your money moves on regulated rails. Here is exactly who does what, and what we will never do.
What we will never do
- Promise returns or interest
- Ask for your recovery phrase
- Promise anonymity
- Hide a spread in the rate
-
Regulated providers
Crypto conversions are carried out by a crypto-asset service provider authorised under MiCA; your IBAN and SEPA transfers by a licensed payment institution. Their names and licence numbers are stated in your contract.
-
Your euros, safeguarded
Funds on your account are held by our regulated partner, separately from its own money, as the law requires. They are not deposits and earn no interest.
-
Activation in two steps
Enter your first and last name, then make an initial deposit of at least $500. Your IBAN activates after confirmation.
-
Payment tracking
The payment modal shows the asset, network, exact amount and confirmation progress. Funds are credited after confirmation.
-
Tax transparency
A Belgian IBAN does not change your tax residence. You remain responsible for the declarations required in your country.
-
Account protection
Two-factor authentication protects your account. We will never ask for your recovery phrase, your passwords or your codes.

Account & IBAN
What exactly is CryptoIBAN?
An account with a Belgian IBAN in your own name, funded by converting crypto-assets into euros. You use it to send SEPA transfers: rent, bills, invoices. CryptoIBAN is not a bank; your euros are held by a regulated payment partner.
Who can open an account?
Adults in an eligible country can create their login online. Enter your first and last name, then make an initial deposit of at least $500 to activate your IBAN. US persons and residents of excluded countries cannot open an account.
Is a Belgian IBAN accepted in France, Spain or Germany?
Yes. Within the SEPA area, a company, a landlord or an employer may not refuse an IBAN because of its country (EU Regulation 260/2012, art. 9). If it happens, point them to this rule, and let us know.
Will my landlord see that the money comes from crypto?
Your landlord receives a standard SEPA transfer in euros, sent from an IBAN in your name, with your name and your reference.
Deposits & conversion
Which crypto can I deposit?
USDT, BTC, ETH and SOL, on the networks listed in the supported assets section. Always use the network shown with your deposit address.
How is the rate set?
You see a quote before converting: the rate, the 1% fee and the exact amount in euros. The rate is fixed when you confirm.
How do I pay from my own wallet?
Choose at least $500, then select the crypto and network. Send the exact amount shown in the payment modal to its address. Pay network fees separately.
Can I deposit USDT?
Yes, on Tron (TRC20) or Ethereum (ERC20). Select the network in the payment modal and send only the asset and exact amount shown. The minimum deposit is $500.
Transfers
How long does a SEPA transfer take?
A standard SEPA transfer reaches the payee’s account by the next business day at the latest.
Can I schedule my rent?
Yes. Set up a monthly transfer once and keep a receipt for every payment.
Are there limits?
Limits depend on your profile and on the checks completed; they are shown in your account before you send anything. Large or unusual amounts may require documents on the origin of funds.
Taxes & living abroad
Do I have to declare this account?
It depends on your tax residence. A tax resident of France, for example, must declare accounts held abroad (form 3916, and 3916-bis for crypto accounts). We don’t give tax advice: ask a tax adviser.
Is my account reported to tax authorities?
Your reporting obligations depend on your country and situation. A Belgian IBAN does not remove them. Keep your transaction records and consult your tax authority or adviser.
Is converting crypto into euros taxable?
Often, depending on where you are tax resident. Belgium, for instance, taxes capital gains on financial assets of its residents at 10% since 2026. Check with an adviser before large conversions.
Security
Is my money protected if something goes wrong?
Funds held on payment and e-money accounts are safeguarded, separately from the provider’s own money. They are not covered by deposit guarantee schemes, and crypto-assets are not covered by any guarantee.
Is CryptoIBAN anonymous?
No. Every customer is identified and every transfer is traceable, as EU law requires. That is precisely why your IBAN is accepted like any other.
