The network

One network accepted: Bitcoin

Under MiCA, bitcoin is a crypto-asset other than an asset-referenced token or an e-money token: nothing aims to keep its value stable, and its price swings sharply.

We accept BTC on the Bitcoin network only. Your deposit counts once the network has confirmed the transaction; how long that takes depends on network activity and on the network fee chosen when sending.

  • One BTC deposit address, valid on the Bitcoin network
  • No deposits via Lightning
  • No “wrapped” BTC issued on another network
Illustrative example

A price that moves while you send

Between sending and confirming, bitcoin’s price can change sharply. For a fixed-date expense such as rent, convert ahead and keep a euro reserve on your account. Only the firm price you confirm applies.

Steps

From your wallet to a SEPA transfer

  1. Send your BTC

Copy your deposit address and send the amount you want to convert from a wallet you own. Check the first and last characters of the pasted address.

  2. Wait for confirmation

    Depends on network load

The Bitcoin network confirms the transaction. Above €1,000 from a self-hosted wallet, we also ask you to prove that the wallet is yours.

  3. Confirm the firm price

You see the rate, the 1% fee and the exact amount in euros, then you decide. Nothing is converted without your approval.

  4. Pay by SEPA transfer

    By next business day

The euros go to your payee’s IBAN; they see your name and a BE IBAN.

FAQ

Bitcoin to EUR: your questions

How long before my bitcoin deposit counts?

It depends on the Bitcoin network: your deposit counts once the transaction is confirmed, and that time varies with network activity and the network fee chosen when sending. The conversion only happens afterwards, when you confirm the firm price.

Can the price change between sending and converting?

Yes. Bitcoin’s price moves sharply, including while your deposit is being confirmed. The simulator gives an indicative rate; only the firm price applies, shown before you confirm as MiCA requires (art. 77).

Can I send bitcoin via Lightning?

No. Only the Bitcoin network is accepted for BTC, and each deposit address is specific to one asset and one network. Funds sent over another network may be lost permanently.

How do I make the first deposit?

Choose a deposit amount of at least $500, then select the asset and network. Send the exact crypto amount to the address displayed in the payment modal, with network fees paid separately.

Do I have to convert all my bitcoin?

No. Send only the amount you need and keep the rest in your own wallet. That is the whole idea for crypto holders: convert at the moment you pay.

I want to convert a large amount: how does it work?

Above €20,000 a month, pricing is quoted on request: state it in your account application or write to us. For large or unusual amounts, expect to provide documents showing where the funds come from.

Is selling bitcoin for euros taxable?

Often, depending on where you are tax resident. Since 1 January 2026, Belgium has applied a 10% tax to its residents’ capital gains on financial assets, crypto included. This is not tax advice: before a large sale, check with your tax office or an adviser.
